Our Vision for One Sky Project

  • Increase public knowledge of local nonprofit organizations by increasing their public exposure through high-quality media.
  • Expose and engage communities in new physical activities by taking locals on free paragliding flights and teaching them how to slackline.
  • Increase adventure tourism throughout Southern and Eastern Africa by highlighting and developing under-utilized flying sites.

Achieving Our Vision

  • Increase public knowledge of local nonprofit organizations by increasing their public exposure through high-quality media.
    • One Sky Project plans to produce one video for three different nonprofit organizations, which they may use for their own personal publicity. We will also be featuring these videos on our own social media accounts in an attempt to reach a larger geographic area. You can read more about these nonprofits in the section entitled Our Partners.
      • Video production will be accomplished utilizing both high-end cameras capable of producing ultra-HD film and high altitude drones with stabilization mounts. We believe utilizing different points of view will enable us to provide multiple perspectives as well as highlighting the geographic regions in which the nonprofits are nestled.
      • Our One Sky team, each of whom have strong followings on various social media platforms, will handle social media. We truly believe that when we share the videos highlighting the three nonprofits, we will be able to connect our nonprofit partners to tens of thousands of people globally.
  • Increase adventure tourism throughout Southern Africa by highlighting and developing under-utilized flying sites.
    • Traveling to flying sites around the world is an inherent part of hang-gliding and paragliding. Throughout our trip, we will be actively seeking new flying spots to share with the global flying community. Our hope is that our new flying locations will grab the attention of the flying community thereby increasing adventure tourism throughout Southern Africa.
  • Expose and engage communities in new physical activities by taking locals on free paragliding flights and teaching them how to slackline
    • Paragliding: Our team includes two tandem certified paragliders who will be providing free tandem paragliding flights to eligible persons. We hope to demonstrate how a paraglider works in each of the communities we visit along our route, and we plan to provide free tandem flights when the weather permits.
    • Slacklining: This is a great way for people to push themselves, and their limits while remaining close to the ground. In addition to teaching locals to slackline along our route, our team will be donating slacklines to various nonprofits and schools throughout our journey.
